Boelter is one of the only three-time All-Americans in the history of TLU football.  Boelter also is one of only seven Bulldog football players in history to have multiple All-American seasons.  Boelter earned his All-American honors in 1968, 1969, and 1970 as a hard-hitting middle linebacker under coaches Fred Hightower and Carman Bonner.  He was the team captain for two seasons and a three-year letterman.  He took his love for football into the high school coaching ranks and has been a high school assistant football coach, most notably with Judson High School in Converse, Texas.  Boelter also served as the head football coach at Seguin High School.
