Laurie was the leader of TLC’s two AIAW National Championship teams in 1975 and 1976.  In 1976, she was named the Most Valuable Player at the National AAU Junior Olympics Championship Tournament.  She joined the U.S. Olympic team in 1978 and was a member of the 1980 Olympic team and the 1984 Olympic silver medal team.  Laurie played major league volleyball for the San Jose Golddiggers and was named Major League Volleyball’s Most Valuable Player in 1987.  She has been the head volleyball coach at the University of San Francisco and is currently the head coach at Texas A&M University.
