Texas Lutheran University

Tolbert started on the offensive line for the 1974 and 1975 Texas Lutheran football national championship teams.  Tolbert and the Bulldogs defeated Missouri Valley 42-0 in Seguin for the first national title.  The next year, TLU defeated California Lutheran 34-8 in Thousand Oaks, California, for a second consecutive crown.  Tolbert took the 1976 season off, but came back in 1977, again starting on the offensive line and earned All-American honors.
