Texas Lutheran University

David played outfield for the Bulldog baseball teams of 1981, 1982, and 1983.  His three-year career batting average was .372.  In 1983, he led the team in batting average (.463 – school record), at bats, RBIs, and doubles.  He was named All-Big State Conference, All NAIA District IV, NAIA All-American, and American Baseball Coaches Association All-American.  Also, in 1983, his home run in the 9^th inning against the University of Texas gave TLC its first win over the Longhorns.
