Hall of Fame
On the 40th anniversary of its' national championship – the first in Texas Lutheran history – the 1974 football team becomes the first team inducted in the TLU Athletics Hall of Fame. Led by NAIA Hall of Fame Coach Jim Wacker, the Bulldogs capped a perfect 11-0 season with a 42-0 victory over Missouri Valley in the national title game – one of six shutouts posted by the Bulldogs that year. While the defense gave up only 44 points that season, the offense scored 421 points – two of 11 school records established by the team that stand to this day. Six members of the team earned All-American honors.
