David Wehmeyer was a member of the 1971-1974 Bulldog football teams under Coach Jim Wacker.  Wehmeyer began his successful collegiate career in 1971 by scoring 98 points his freshman year.  That figure remains the TLC record for most points scored in a season.  That year he was named the outstanding freshman on the UPI All-Texas College Team.  He was a co-captain on the 1973 and 1974 teams, and in 1974, he led the Bulldog rushing attack that set a school record for most yards gained during a season.  David was also a member of the Kodak and Lutheran All-American teams in 1973.
