SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran sophomore defender Noelani Ajel (Cibolo/Steele) has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Ajel helped the Bulldogs to a pair of shutout wins last week as the Bulldogs only conceded one goal over three matches. She earns her second career SCAC weekly honor and first of this season.

Ajel led a Bulldogs defense that shutout Southwestern 1-0 on October 14 and Schreiner, 3-0, on October 19. She played all 90 minutes in the victory over Southwestern. On Sunday, Ajel and TLU limited the Mountaineers to two shots on goal and just four shots total, with just one shot in the 74 minutes she was on the field.

Texas Lutheran remains unbeaten in their last eight contests with five shutouts over the course of that streak. TLU's defense has allowed just nine goals in 13 games.

The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Belton to face Mary Hardin-Baylor with the match scheduled to kickoff at 7 PM. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
