GEORGETOWN, Texas -- Sophomore
Lilly Noblett's (San Antonio/Warren) incredible goal with ten minutes remaining on the clock handed Texas Lutheran (8-3) a 1-0 victory over rival Southwestern (4-6-3) on the road Tuesday night in their first matchup as non-conference foes since the Pirates move to the Southern Athletic Association (SAA).
The goal was Noblett's fifth of the season to tie for the team lead and 11th of her career, and marked her third career game-winner.
As time dwindled away and the Bulldogs continued to narrowly miss on opportunities Tuesday night,
Alyssa Ibanez (San Antonio/Judson) found Noblett on the left side of the attack before Noblett shot a lofting shot from over 10 yards from outside the box over the Pirates keeper and under the crossbar for the winner.

The goal was so nice in fact that it would be featured in the
ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 Plays Tuesday night as the number eight play of the day.
The Bulldogs high powered offense had plenty of opportunities on Tuesday with TLU taking 22 shots on the night and putting 14 of those on frame. The Bulldogs had double-digit shots in both halves of the match but Noblett's shot would be the only one to find the back of the net. Texas Lutheran's
Alysa Marquez (Miami, FL/Dr. Michael Krop) was credited with five saves while locking up her second shutout of the season.
