BOSSIER CITY, LA -- Texas Lutheran women's golf opened the 2026 Hal Sutton Invitational at The Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City, Louisiana, on Monday.
Sophomore Belle Asbury (San Antonio/Davenport) paced the Bulldogs shooting 14-over (86), tying for 11th through the opening 18 holes. Shayla Huynh (Grand Rapids, MI/Steele) trails Asbury by six strokes after her opening round, tying for 21st.
Lillian Niemeyer (Conroe/Conroe) sits in 26th after an opening round score of 93 (+21) while Jordyn Ponewash (Flatonia/Flatonia) is in 33rd place at 35-over.
As a team, Texas Lutheran is in fifth place through the opening 18 holes with a score of 90-over. Mississippi College leads through the first day with a score of 28-over.
The Bulldogs will begin their final round tomorrow at 8:30 AM.
