SEGUIN, Texas -- Three members of the Texas Lutheran volleyball team have received Academic All-District honors, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Richelle Guerra (Brownsville/Rivera),
Andie Lozano-Lomeli (Brownsville/Pace), and
Briana Salvatierra-Moore (San Antonio/Antonian College Prep) were selected to the Academic All-District Team.
The CSC Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore athletically and academically with a 3.50 cumulative GPA or better. Requirements to earn Academic All-District for volleyball student-athletes also include competing in 90 percent of the team's matches or starting in at least 66 percent of the matches.
The honor is the second for Guerra and first for Lozano-Lomeli and Salvatierra-Moore.
Guerra, who earned All-SCAC Second Team honors this fall, will graduate this week with a degree in kinesiology with a focus in exercise science.
Lozano-Lomeli is majoring in communications with a double minor in English and psychology.
Salvatierra-Moore, who earned her first All-SCAC honor this fall, is majoring in kinesiology with a focus in Athletic Training while minoring in psychology.
