SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran senior captain and midfielder
Jessica Robinson (Cibolo/Steele) has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Robinson was stellar, anchoring the Bulldog defensive effort last week as TLU secured a 1-0 shutout to defeat Concordia to close out the regular season. The honor is the first weekly honor in her career.
She played all 90 minutes in the victory over Concordia (TX), limiting the Tornados to just four shots in the contest while picking up their ninth shutout of the season.
TLU's defense has allowed just ten goals in 17 games.
The Bulldogs will enjoy a first round bye in the 2025 SCAC Tournament before facing the winner of the Concordia (TX) v. Austin College matchup on Friday, Nov. 7 at noon at Round Rock Multipurpose Complex. The match and entire tournament will be streamed on FloCollege.
