SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran women's soccer players
Callie Brame (San Antonio/Churchill) and
Caitlin Roach (Houston/Manvel) have earned Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) weekly honors, the conference announced on Monday.
Brame was tabbed SCAC Offensive Player of the Week after a two goal, one assist week to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0-1 week of action. The SCAC co-leader in assists entering the final weekend netted two game winners over the weekend, including the game winning goal on Sunday against St. Thomas to secure the Bulldogs first SCAC regular season championship in program history. With her assist Friday, Brame tied the program record for career assists with 22 and became just the third Bulldog in program history with double-digit assists in a season joining Katie Buehler and co-career assist record holder and co-SCAC assist leader
Klarissa Martinez (Houston/Incarnate Word Academy).
The honor is the second this season and third of the San Antonio native's career.
Roach was slated as the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week as she anchored a TLU back line that allowed just one goal in 270 minutes of action last week, including two shutouts over the weekend against Centenary and St. Thomas. Roach also earned her second assist of the season in Friday's 5-0 win over Centenary.
The honor is Roach's second career SCACÂ Player of the week nod.
The honors are the sixth and seventh of the season for TLU women's soccer.
Brame, Roach and the rest of the Bulldogs will end the regular season on Friday, Oct. 31 at 5 pm with a road match against Concordia (TX). The match will be broadcast on FloCollege. All streaming and live stats links will be available onÂ
