SEGUIN, Texas -- Senior
Parker Schutte (Arlington/Lamar), junior
Cole Cravens (Round Rock/Round Rock), and sophomore
Cooper Jen (Kyle/Hays) of the Texas Lutheran Baseball team were all named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
Schutte earned a degree in Accounting with a 3.81 GPA, Cravens is an Accounting major with a 3.92 GPA and Jen has a 3.50 GPA as a Mathematics major. The Academic All-District honor is a first for all three Bulldogs.
To qualify, student-athletes must have a 3.50 GPA, be at least a sophomore, and play in at least 90% of the team's contests or start in at least 66% of the team's games.
Cravens, who was also the SCAC's Elite 19 Winner, collected All-SCAC recognition for the first time in his career following his best season to date.The junior catcher hit .345 with nine doubles, three home runs, 30 RBI and a .534 slugging percentage to earn All-SCAC First Team honors. After having just one extra base hit in his first two seasons, Cravens had 14 this season. Cravens also threw out five runners this season behind the plate for the Bulldogs.
Jen, an All-SCAC Honorable Mention selection, hit .285 with three home runs, 35 RBI and 37 runs scored. Jen started and played in 40 of the Bulldogs 42 games as a sophomore.
Schutte was a go-to relied pitcher for the Bulldogs with a team-high 20 appearances out of the bullpen. He finished 2026 5-4 with two saves, a 4.17 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 45.1 innings pitched. Schutte was also named All-SCAC Honorable Mention.
The trio are the most Academic All-District honorees under head coach
Kyle Palmer '09's tenure.
