SEGUIN, Texas -- A pair of Bulldogs, Adam Peavy (Houston/Memorial) and Caleb Small (Round Rock/Gateway College Preparatory), added more postseason honors with both earning a spot on the D3baseball.com All-Region teams, the publication announced on Tuesday. The All-Region honor is the second in Peavy's career, earning All-West Region Second Team, while the All-Region Third Team honor is the the first of Small's career.
Peavy became the fifth player in program history to be named SCAC Player of the Year, finishing his senior season with a .439/.587/.719 slash line - leading the SCAC in all three categories (batting average/on-base percentage/slugging percentage). Peavy's .587 on-base percentage finished third nationally across all of Division-III. Peavy was the only player to be named SCAC Hitter of the Week twice this season, finishing in the top ten in the SCAC in numerous offensive categories. On the year, he turned in 20 multi-hit efforts along with 11 games with multiple runs driven in. Peavy graduates with the second highest batting average in program history for a four-year player (.376).
In his first full season as a starter, Small led TLU with 51 runs scored six triples, and 16 stolen bases while finishing second on the team with six home runs. Four of Small's six home runs came in conference play.
Small started all 42 games, as the Bulldogs right fielder's slash line finished at .385/.471/.678 along with 41 runs batted in, ranking second on the team. His .678 slugging percentage ranked second in the conference only to Peavy. A native of Round Rock, Small registered 17 multi-hit games along with 11 games with multiple RBI. His six triples tied for 11th nationally in Division-III.
Both Bulldogs were previously named All-SCAC First Team on May 1.
