SEGUIN, Texas -- Parker Cabra (Schertz/Randolph) was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Men's Field Athlete of the Year, the conference announced on Thursday.
This is the fourth time TLU has taken home the SCAC Male Field Athlete of the Year award, the first time since 2023, and the 11th total SCAC yearly award for TLU Men's track and field since joining the conference in 2014.
The Schertz, Texas, native earned All-SCAC First Team honors at the 2026 SCAC Track and Field Championships in the high jump. Cabra cleared 2.09 meters (6' 10 1/4") in the high jump to earn gold. This effort was just short of the conference championship meet record of 6' 10 3/4" - placing him second on the league's all-time performance list, only trailing Rhodes College's Tim Barkley (2.10m, 1999). The mark qualified Cabra for the 2026 NCAA Division-III National Championships as the height placed him at ninth in the nation.
Cabra earned his first career All-America honor in May after placing 15th in the high jump on day two of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Cabra cleared heights of 1.98m (6'6") and 2.03m (6'8") at the championship meet to be named a Second Team All-American. Cabra joined the 2023 SCAC Field Athlete of the Year, Gerrit Twitero, as the only All-Americans in the event in program history.
Cabra was a USTFCCCA All-Region honoree in both the 2026 indoor and outdoor seasons.
