SEGUIN, Texas -- Fifteen Texas Lutheran Bulldogs collected Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) honors, as the league announced its postseason awards for the 2026 baseball season on Friday afternoon.
Adam Peavy (Houston/Memorial),
Jack Grames (Elgin/Elgin), and
Kyle Palmer '09 all earned major awards, as Peavy was named SCAC Player of the Year, Grames was named Co-First Year Player of the Year and Palmer was tabbed SCAC Coach of the Year.
Peavy was joined on the All-SCAC First Team by
Cole Cravens (Round Rock/Round Rock),
Chase Bourgeois (League City/Clear Falls),
Caleb Small (Round Rock/Gateway College Preparatory), and
Brayden Sprencel (Robstown/Calallen). Meanwhile, Grames was joined by fellow pitcher
Triston McGowan (Vidor/Vidor) on the All-SCAC Second Team.

Aiden Spires (Fort Worth/Arlington Heights) were all named All-SCAC Honorable Mention. The awards are voted on by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.
Peavy is the fifth Bulldogs to be named SCAC Player of the Year and the first since Tyler Post in 2023, who was also the last first baseman to win the award. Peavy leads the SCAC in batting average (.447), onbase percentage (.597), slugging percentage (.735) and total bases (97), and is ranked in the top 10 in several other offensive categories heading into conference tournament. He is second in runs scored (47), third in both hits (59) and doubles (15), fourth in home runs (seven), sixth in runs batted in (39) and seventh in walks (27). The senior was twice named SCAC Hitter-of-the-Week during the regular season, including a Week 3 performance (2/16-2/22) when he hit .500 (6-for-12) with five extra base hits, including two home runs in Game Two, in a three-game sweep of St. Thomas. Playing in his hometown, Peavy drove in eight runs and scored six more as the Bulldogs improved to 5-1 in league play and took the early lead in the conference standings. Nationally, Peavy ranks in the top 25 in batting average (23rd), hit by pitch (22, 10th), and on-base percentage (3rd).
A 6-foot-1, 205-pound hurler, Grames became just the fourth Bulldog to receive the conference Freshman/First Year Player of the Year distinction, joining Nathan Malinovsky (2016), Tyler Cauley (2017), and Joe Jimenez (2019). The Elgin, Texas, native paced all pitchers in both wins (eight) and complete games (three) and fourth in innings pitched (73.2). The freshmanÂ
southpaw struck out 48 batters (seventh in the SCAC) and allowed 39 earned runs for an ERA of 4.76, which dipped to 3.98 in conference only competition. All three of his complete games came during conference play, including this past weekend when his 7.0 inning, four-hit shutout performance over University of Dallas clinched the SCAC regular season title for the Bulldogs. Overall, the freshman notched an 8-2 mark and a 4.76 ERA across 73 2/3 innings, registering 33 walks and 48 strikeouts.
Palmer is the third coach to earn SCAC coach of the year honors, joining his former coach
Greg Burnett and Rick Heines. For the third-year skipper, this marks his first career Coach of the Year distinction. Under Palmer, the Bulldogs won the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference for the first time since 2023, clinching the conference championship outright by winning their series last weekend against Dallas in Irving. The Bulldogs, who were picked fourth in the conference's preseason poll, won the league by a game. Texas Lutheran's 21-9 ledger in SCAC action is also their best performance in league play since the 2023 season. The Bulldogs were the lone SCAC team to win finish with single digit losses in league play.
During the regular season, the Bulldogs posted a 28-12 ledger. Since the second week of the season, Palmer's club has been in or around the national conversation. Texas Lutheran climbed the rankings throughout the 2026 season, reaching as high as No. 11 in the D3baseball.com Top 25. Entering the SCAC Tournament, the Bulldogs continue to receive votes in the top 25 poll.
Cravens collects All-SCAC recognition for the first time in his career following his best season to date.The junior catcher is hitting .348 with nine doubles, three home runs, 29 RBI and a .545 slugging percentage - ranking in the top five on the team in all categories. After having just one extra base hit in his first two seasons, Cravens has 14 this season. Cravens has also thrown out five runners this season behind the plate for the Bulldogs. Bourgeois was second amongst middle infielders in the SCAC in RBI with 36. Bourgeois is tied for the team lead in doubles (15) and triples (6), tying for seventh nationally. The All-SCAC honor is the third of his career. Small earns his first career All-SCAC honor after coming into his own in his sophomore season. Through the regular season, the outfielder sits second on the club in RBI (41), while having the second-most homers (6). Small leads the SCAC in runs scored (51) and is tied with Bourgeois for seventh nationally in triples (6). Small also leads the team with 16 stolen bases and ten assists from the outfield. Sprencel ranks third in the SCAC with a team-high 45 RBI while also leading the team in hits (61) to earn his second All-SCAC honor.
McGowan earns his second career All-SCAC honor after tying for the conference lead with eight wins. Overall, McGowan was 8-2 with a 4.36 ERA and 48 strikeouts over 76.1 innings. McGowan owns a team-low .253 batting average against while leading the team in innings pitched.
