ABILENE, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's track and field program opened the 2026 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships on Friday at Wilford Moore Stadium on the campus of McMurry University. Texas Lutheran sits in third place in the men's standings with 10 points behind meet leader McMurry, who leads with 32 points.

Friday only saw teams compete in two events: javelin throw and long jump.

Rickey Franks (Rockport/Rockport-Fulton) turned in a personal-best mark of 6.69m (21' 11.50") to finish fifth and add team-leading four points to the Bulldogs point tally on Friday. Amir McClain (Converse/Veterans Memorial) finished sixth with a mark of 6.63m (21' 09.00").

Jaxson Griscom (San Antonio/Randolph) and Jacob Cortinas (Brownsville/Lopez Early College) added points in the javelin throw with seventh (46.25m,151' 09") and eighth place (45.31m, 148' 08") finishes respectively.
