ABILENE, Texas -- The No. 14 Texas Lutheran men's track and field team competed in the 2026 War Hawk Classic hosted by McMurry University, the hosts of the 2026 SCAC Championships, over the course of two days in Abilene. The meet did not completely finish due to weather.

Parker Cabra (Schertz/Randolph) finished third overall and first among Division-III competitors in the 110m hurdles finishing in 14.51 seconds while Garrett Haass (La Vernia/La Vernia) finished sixth in 15.03 seconds. Cabra's 14.51 time set a new school record in the event, surpassing the previous record of 14.62 set by Paris Foster in 2019. Cabra added a fourth place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.92m (6' 3.5").

Braylen Brown (San Antonio/Randolph) and Caden Keller (McAllen/McAllen) finished third and fourth in the 400m dash with times of 48.51 and 48.72 seconds respectively.

Gabriel Ceballos (San Antonio/Smithson Valley) finished sixth overall and third among Division-III runners with a time of 4:11.26 in the 1500m run.

The Texas Lutheran 4x100m relay team comprised of Rickey Franks (Rockport/Rockport-Fulton), Hezekiah McDow (Goliad/Weiss), Eden Perez (Hebbronville/Hebbronville), and Tavion Parrish (Kyle/Johnson), fresh off of posting the number one time in the country, finished sixth in a highly competitive field on Saturday with a time of 41.35 seconds. East Texas Baptist's winning time of 40.85 seconds now ranks third nationally.

In throws, Jose Daniel Rubalcava (Edinburg/Robert Vela) finished 11th overall and third among D3 throwers in the discus throw with a mark of 41.61m (136' 6"). Beau Hill (Salado/Salado) finished tenth in the hammer throw with a mark of 42.25m (138' 7"). Jaxson Griscom (San Antonio/Randolph) finished ninth in the javelin throw with the mark of 42.96m (140' 11") while Jacob Cortinas (Brownsville/Lopez Early College) finished tenth at 42.44m (139' 3").
