WESTWORTH VILLAGE, Texas -- Texas Lutheran women's golf opened the 2026 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship Tournament at Hawks Creek Golf Club in Westworth Village, Texas on Sunday.
Texas Lutheran only has three golfers participating in the tournament and will not configure in the team standings.
Sophomore Belle Asbury (San Antonio/Davenport), who won the Bulldogs' last tournament on the course and is fresh off being named SCAC Golfer of the Week, paced the Bulldogs shooting six-over (78), finishing in a tie for sixth place through the opening 18 holes. Asbury trails the tournament leader by three strokes.
Jordyn Ponewash (Flatonia/Flatonia) entered the clubhouse tied for 19th place at 13-over par while Lillian Niemeyer (Conroe/Conroe) is in a tie for 25th after an opening round score of 88 (+16).
The Bulldogs will begin moving day tomorrow morning with the tournament streamed on FloCollege.
