SEGUIN, Texas -- For the third time this season, TLU women's golf sophomore
Belle Asbury (San Antonio/Davenport) was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Golfer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Wednesday, April 15.
This is the fourth conference weekly honor of Asbury's career and her third of the season. Asbury last earned the honor in October after a top five finish at the Abilene Intercollegiate.
Earlier this week at the Sea Gull Invitational, Asbury led the Bulldogs by placing second to help TLU finish as tournament runner-up. She finished with a 166 (+22) and was in contention for the individual title over the course of all 36 holes. She finished the week, best in the field in par 3 scoring (3.25), tied for second in par 4 scoring (4.85) and fourth in par 5 scoring (5.38). For the week, Asbury posted 18 pars, the most in the entire field of 23 student-athletes. This was her sixth top ten finish in seven tournaments this season.
From here, Asbury and her teammates will compete at the 2026 SCAC Championship Tournament, held in Westworth Village, Texas, April 19-21.
