HOUSTON, Texas -- Texas Lutheran men's tennis fell to St. Thomas 4-3, in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) action in Houston on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (5-5, 2-4 SCAC) dropped the doubles point and claimed singles wins in No. 1, No. 2, and No. 6 singles. The Celts swept the heart of singles play with the match being decided by a three-set thriller in No. 5 singles.

Despite the Bulldogs dropping the doubles point, the team of Ajonte St. Ville (St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda AESA Prep International (TX)) and Kadon Sullins (Kyle/Lehman) won the No. 1 doubles match 6-4.

Texas Lutheran and St. Thomas would split their singles matches 3-3 and were a decisive third set in No. 5 singles from stealing the conference outing as the Bulldogs continue to fight to qualify for the SCAC Tournament.

All three TLU wins in singles competition came in three sets. Cash Herrera (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) won in the No. 1 singles position, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 while St. Ville won in No. 2 singles rallying for a 5-7, 6-2, 6-4. Jackson Leslie (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) won his third straight singles match on Saturday, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Texas Lutheran returns to the ORTC for their final homestand of the season starting on Friday, April 10, as they face McMurry. First serve is set for 2 PM.
