SEGUIN, Texas -- With the regular season wrapped and Texas Lutheran participating in the 2026 SCAC women's basketball tournament this week, three Bulldogs earned a multitude of honors as announced by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) on Saturday.
Earning an All-SCAC First Team honor for the second time in her career and All-SCAC recognition for the fourth season in a row,
Lauren Sansano (San Antonio/FEAST) caps off her final season at TLU with the honor. The guard ranks No. 2 in TLU's NCAA-era and third overall in program history in career assists (322) and No. 3 in the NCAA-era in steals (176). Sansano also ranks seventh in program history with 1,165 points throughout her time in Seguin. This season, Sansano leads TLU with 14.7 points and 4.6 assists per game. Sansano ranked first in the SCAC in conference games (4.6) and overall (4.3) in assists in the regular season. Boasting a triple-double and a double-double this season, Sansano paced the Bulldogs and finished in double figures in 20 of the Bulldogs 26 games this season. Sansano also finished third the regular season in the SCAC in steals (2.2) and top ten in rebounding amongst guards in the conference at 5.0 per game.
Asserting her dominance in the paint and returning with an improved jump shot,
Davi'Yanna Jones (San Antonio/Stevens) earned a spot on the All-SCAC Second Team for the third all conference honor of the redshirt junior's career. Causing problems for opposing teams on the inside, Jones averaged 13.9 points per game in SCAC action while shooting 57.2 percent from the field. Jones also served as the Bulldogs second leading rebounder, averaging 6.1 per game.
On the season, Jones is leading the Bulldogs from the floor in making 55.1 percent of her shots, ranking second in the SCAC. The San Antonio native has posted four 20-point outings including a career-high 24 points against St. Thomas and added four double-doubles.
Lighting it up in her final season with the Bulldogs, senior
Sarahi Jones (Los Fresnos/Los Fresnos) finds herself on the All-SCAC Third Team. Starting in 21 games for the Bulldogs, Jones took another leap as she averaged a career-high 11.4 points per game during the regular season while cleaning the glass and facilitating within the TLU offense. Tallying 15 outings in double figures, Jones poured in a career-high 21 points in the win over Hendrix College. Jones, along with Sansano and
Davi'Yanna Jones all earned SCAC Offensive Player of the Week twice this season.
Jones cleaned the glass for the Bulldogs, ranking second in the SCAC with 8.0Â rebounds per game while dishing out a career-high 1.8 assists per game. An aggressive presence on the defensive end, Jones ranked fifth in the SCAC with 1.1 blocks per game.
