SEGUIN, Texas -- For the first time in program history, Texas Lutheran head men's soccer coach Eddie Salazar and his staff of Jimmy Flores,
Louis Hart, and
Noel Pena were named the 2025 United Soccer Coaches West Region (Region X) Coaching Staff of the Year on Thursday. The honor comes after Salazar and company won the program's second SCAC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Second Round for the first time in program history.
Texas Lutheran went 13-5-3 this past season. Along the way, the Bulldogs claimed SCAC runner-up status in the regular season before claiming the 2025 SCAC Championship and earned a berth to the NCAA Championship. It marked the second SCAC title in program history and the third time that TLU has earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament. With a 3-2 win over Whitman, the Bulldogs advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
Individually, 11 Bulldogs earned SCAC postseason awards. Senior
Evan Bremauntz (Grapevine/Colleyville Heritage) and freshman
Alex Hart (Missouri City/Ridge Point) were named All-SCAC First Team. Junior defender
Carson Alldredge (Spring/Klein), freshman
Ernesto Avila (Houston/Humble), and forward
Jesus Carrillo (San Antonio/Reagan) earned spots on the All-SCAC Second Team.
Salazar, who is the winningest coach in program history with a record of 164-155-35 over his 20 seasons in Seguin.
In addition, the Region Staff of the Year recipients will be placed on the ballot for National Staff of the Year consideration within their respective NCAA division.
