SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's soccer team will play Whitman in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the selection committee announced on Monday.
The Bulldogs and Blues (14-0-6) will meet at Paul McGinlay Field on the campus of Trinity University on Saturday, Nov. 15 with kickoff tentatively set for 6:30 PM. Game times are subject to change. The winner of Sunday's contest will face the winner of #5 Trinity and Hardin-Simmons on Sunday, Nov. 16. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
Texas Lutheran earned an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament by winning the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship, after finishing as the runner-up in the regular season.
Texas Lutheran will make their third appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The last time Texas Lutheran appeared in the NCAA Tournament was 2019.
Overall, the Bulldogs enter the tournament with a 12-4-3 record.
The 64-team field is made up of 43 conference champions who automatically qualified, in addition to 21 teams that were selected via at-large bids.
