WESTWORTH VILLAGE, Texas --
Belle Asbury (San Antonio/Davenport), a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, made five birdies Tuesday en route to a three-over par 75 to claim her first collegiate tournament championship at the 2025 SCAC Fall Preview at Hawks Creek Golf Club in Westworth Village, Texas.
Asbury is the first women's golfer to earn individual championship honors since Wynter Flores won the Alamo City Classic in 2022.
In a field that included the entire SCAC, the Bulldogs finished fifth at 97-over par (673). St. Thomas won the event with a 36-hole score of 70-over (646).
Asbury led the Bulldogs with rounds of 76 and 75 to finish seven-over for the tournament, leading the tournament nearly wire-to-wire. Asbury won the tournament by one stroke and tallied seven birdies across two rounds.
Lillian Niemeyer (Conroe/Conroe) tied for 15th at 25-over par with
Jordyn Ponewash (Flatonia/Flatonia) finishing a stroke behind in a tie for 18th place.
Danielynn Conde (Raymondville/Raymondville) finished 32nd at 39-over par.
Texas Lutheran travels to Abilene October 20-21 to conclude their fall season at the 2025 Abilene Intercollegiate at Live Oak Golf Club hosted by Hardin-Simmons University.
