SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's track and field team competed in the Trinity Last Chance Meet hosted by Trinity University in San Antonio Sunday evening. The Bulldogs won three events in front of the Mother's Day crowd in San Antono.
For the second time this season, Ciarah Garcia (Pleasanton/Pleasanton) won the 400m dash, clocking in with a time of 58.54 seconds. Garcia also added a win in the triple jump with a mark of 11.04m (36-2.75).
Fresh off her second place finish at the SCAC Championships, senior Kamilah Tanner (Killeen/Shoemaker) narrowly missed matching her personal best time from the 2026 SCAC Championships, winning the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:06.73.
Senior Kirsten Smith (Yoakum/Yoakum) finished second in the hammer throw with a mark of 40.45m (132-9.00). Laura Sierra (San Antonio/St. Anthony Catholic) finished fourth overall and second among D3 throwers in the shot put with a mark of 11.19m (36-8.50). Madison Wright (San Antonio/Lee), another San Antonio native, finished fourth overall and third among D3 throwers in the discus throw, finishing with a final mark of 33.00m (108-3.00) with Sierra finishing right behind her in fifth at 32.24m (105-9.00). Sierra also added a second place finish in the javelin throw at 29.95m (98-3.00).

A small group of Bulldogs will travel to Rock Island, Illinois, later this week to compete in the Augustana Midwest Twilight Last Chance meet May 13-14 as the Bulldogs continue their push towards national qualification.
