ABILENE, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's track and field program opened the 2026 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships on Friday at Wilford Moore Stadium on the campus of McMurry University. Texas Lutheran sits in second place in the women's standings with 11 points behind meet leader McMurry, who leads with 39 points.
Friday only saw teams compete in two events: javelin throw and long jump.
Ciarah Garcia (Pleasanton/Pleasanton) got the Bulldogs on the board with a seventh place finish in the long jump. Her mark of 4.95m (16' 3") is a new personal best.
Madison Wright (San Antonio/Lee),
Kirsten Smith (Yoakum/Yoakum), and
Emagen Styra (Nordheim/Nordheim) finished fifth through seventh to tally nine points in total for the Bulldogs in the javelin throw. Wright led TLU with a mark of 30.17m (98' 11").
