Gracen Bunch, made their home debut Thursday night in front of a lively Memorial Gymnasium crowd that was excited to see the Bulldogs in action for the first time at home this season. The freshman-laiden Bulldogs would drop their home opener to Missouri State with the Bulldogs (0-3) earning a total score of 103.525 and the Bears (3-2) earning a total score of 242.230.
Texas Lutheran scored a 16.85 in the compulsory, including a 3.45 in acro, 7.10 in pyramid, and 6.30 in toss out of the highest possible value of 10. Missouri State outscored the Bulldogs in the compulsory, earning a 31.50 total score.
After the acro event, TLU continued to trail the Bears. Texas Lutheran earned a total score of 20.60 consisting of a 7.30 in the fifth element, 6.40 in the sixth element, and 6.90 in the seventh element.
Missouri State would out score the Bulldogs in the pyramid event, 29.20 to 23.00.
Leading into the half, TLU trailed 87.45 - 60.45.
The Bears took the toss event, with event scores being 26.20 - 21.05. Texas Lutheran earned a 7.900 in salto, 6.00 in synchronized, and 7.150 in open. The 21.05 is a new season-high for the upstart Bulldogs.
MOST also took the tumbling event, outscoring TLU 51.650 to 22.025.
