SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Acrobatics and Tumbling wrapped their first regular season under head coach Macie Searls with a rematch against her alma mater, East Texas Baptist, Saturday evening at Memorial Gymnasium. The Bulldogs would drop the meet to the Tigers with the Bulldogs (0-5) earning a total score of 109.050 and the Tigers (4-3) earning a total score of 213.450. The 109
Texas Lutheran scored an 18.90 in the compulsory, including a 5.15 in acro, 7.0 in pyramid, and 6.75 in toss out of the highest possible values of 10. ETBU outscored the Bulldogs in the compulsory, earning a 25.10 total score.
After the acro event, TLU continued to trail the Tigers, with the Bulldogs earning a total score of 18.30 consisting of a 7.75 in the fifth element, 5.20 in the sixth element, and 5.35 in the seventh element.
East Texas Baptist would edge out the Bulldogs in the pyramid event, 26.60 to 23.20. Despite losing the event, the Bulldogs did win the open pyramid heat with a score of 9.20.
Leading into the half, TLU trailed ETBU 73.65 - 60.40.
The Tigers took the toss event, with event scores being 23.45 - 21.50.
ETBU also took the tumbling event, outscoring TLU 42.450 to 27.150.
After ETBU's team event, Texas Lutheran honored its lone senior Payten Campos (San Antonio/John Jay) in a Senior Day ceremony. We thank her for all of her contributions to the Texas Lutheran A&T program over the last two seasons.
