ROUND ROCK, Texas -- Sophomore Cooper Hollomon (Bellville/Bellville) led the Texas Lutheran men's golf team to a sixth place finish after day one at the Linda Lowery Invitational hosted by Concordia University at Teravista Golf Club in Round Rock, Texas, shooting a one-under 71 placing him in a tie for fifth place and three strokes back of the lead through 18 holes.
Texas Lutheran sits in sixth place overall in the 11 team field at 15-over (303). Texas Lutheran's B squad is in ninth place at 21-over (309). No. 28 LeTourneau leads the tournament at two-under, 286.
Van Miller (Katy/Seven Lakes) joined Hollomon in the top ten, shooting his third straight even-par (72) round dating back to last week to finish tied for eighth.
Shea Eason (Round Rock/Round Rock) and Tucker McDonald (Seguin/Navarro) led the Bulldogs B squad at four-over par (76) to finish tied for 27th.
Octavio Cantu (Mission/Sharyland) tied for 33rd place with a first day tally of 77 to finish five-over par. Gabriel Cramer (Georgetown/Rouse) finished one stroke behind Cantu, tying for 36th. Adrian Cramer (Leander/Rouse) finished tied for 42nd place at seven-over par while Tyler Givilancz (Schertz/Clemens) finished three strokes behind him to enter the clubhouse in a tie for 49th.
Texas Lutheran's final round tees off at 8:30 AM on Tuesday.
