SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran linebacker/defensive back Owen Garcia (Austin/Connally) has been selected to the 2025 College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Football Team, the CSC announced Tuesday.

This is the first time the sophomore has earned the honor.

Garcia played in all ten games for the Bulldogs this season, leading the team in tackles to earn All-SCAC First Team honors. He finished the season with 65 total tackles (41 solo) to go with 7.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and a team-leading two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He had two games with 10+ total stops and was a finalist for SCAC Defensive Player of the Year as a two-time SCAC Defensive Player of the Week and one-time D3football.com Team of the Week honoree.

CSC Academic All-District recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.50 GPA, have a minimum of one year completed at their current institution and have played in at least 90% of their team's contests from the current season.
