ABILENE, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's tennis team continued competition at the 2025 ITA Southwest Regional Championships in singles and doubles competition on Friday at the Streich Tennis Center on the campus of Hardin-Simmons University.
While the Bulldogs would lose their match in the A Draw, the teams of
Cassandra Benavides and
Adison Ortega and
Isabella Hill (Pearland/Pearland) and
Farah Standley (Pleasanton/Pleasanton) picked up wins over Austin College and Dallas in the opening round of the B Draw before falling in the second round.
Standley and Isabella Barber picked up singles wins in the opening round of the B draw before falling in the second round. After losing her opening round match, Cassandra Benavides won her consolation bracket match against LeTourneau, 7-5, 6-1, to advance to the quarterfinals of the B Draw consolation bracket. Ortega also advanced to the quarterfinals following a 7-5, 6-3 win over Austin College.
The ITA Southwest Regional Championships continue through Sunday with the Bulldogs competing in singles and doubles competition. Live stats are available here.
