TUNICA, MS -- The Texas Lutheran men's golf team finished in seventh place in the final standings at the Rhodes Fall Invitational hosted by Rhodes College at the Tunica National Golf Club in Tunica, Mississippi, on Monday.
The Bulldogs closed the event with a round of 310 with a 54-hole total of 907, 43-over par to finish seventh. Transylvania won the event with an 874 tally at the par-72 course, winning the tournament by 12 strokes.
Transylvania's Andy Steed posted a three-under total of 213 to claim first-place - winning the event by a single stroke.
Senior Van Miller (Katy/Seven Lakes) led the Bulldogs with a sixth place finish, carding a two-over par total of 218. Jeffrey Janik (Harlingen/Harlingen School of Health Professions) finished tied for 26th at 12-over par (228).
Shea Eason (Round Rock/Round Rock) finished tied for 30th with a final tally of 230 to finish 14-over par.
Octavio Cantu (Mission/Sharyland) and Brandon Munson (Livingston/Livingston) finished tied for 36th after shooting a 16-over, 232 in the tournament while Cooper Hollomon (Bellville/Bellville) (+17) finished tied for 43rd.
Texas Lutheran returns to action Sept. 29-30 at the Lyon College Tournament at Course at Eagle Mountain in Batesville, Arkansas.
