Acero, Brown Ready to Represent TLU at the NCAA Championships

GENEVA, OH -- The biggest stage is set for the Texas Lutheran men's track and field team as the Bulldogs prepare to compete on the national stage at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

The Bulldogs begin the competition on Friday as freshman Braylen Brown will run in the 400m prelims in heat one, a heat that will also feature fellow SCAC competitor Josh Williams of Colorado College, to earn an opportunity to run in the championship race. Brown enters the championships ranked in a tie for 20th amongst declared competitors with a season-best time of 47.24 seconds.

Ezra Acero (San Antonio/Harlan) continues his pursuit of All-America status and a national championship in the pole vault. Narrowly missing All-American status in 2023 and earning a no height last year, Acero enters the event tied for tenth in NCAA Division-III with a mark of 4.95m (16' 2.75") and motivated for a redemptive performance in his final NCAA Championship performance.

Brown will compete at 3 PM EST on Friday and if he makes it to the event finals, he will compete again at 2:10 PM EST on Saturday. Acero will compete in Saturday's event finals at noon EST Saturday.

All three days of the event will be broadcast on ncaa.com. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
