SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Volleyball dropped their home opener to Mary Hardin-Baylor, 3-1, on Thursday at Memorial Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs (6-3) will look to right the ship as they face Southwestern in Georgetown on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 6 PM. The match will be streamed on FloCollege. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.

Andie Lozano-Lomeli (Brownsville/Pace) led the Bulldogs with 12 kills and four blocks, while Ava Search (Richmond/Needville) had five kills in her first home match as a Bulldog. Briana Salvatierra-Moore (San Antonio/Antonian College Prep) added six kills and two blocks.

Kieryn Adams (Schulenburg/Schulenburg) had a team-high 24 digs and Naomia Gamboa (San Antonio/Warren) finished with 15 digs.

Texas Lutheran started fast in the first set and jumped out to a quick 8-5 lead before UMHB stormed back to tie 12-all and eventually take a 17-15 lead. The Cru went on to take the first set, 25-18.

The Bulldogs battled back to take the second set, 25-18, and tie the match up at one set a piece. Lozano-Lomeli led the Bulldogs with three kills and four blocks in the set.

In the third set, TLU trailed early but made a run to grab an 18-14 lead. Following that run, the Crusaders answered with an 11-4 run to take a 2-1 lead in the match.

The fourth and final set saw an 8-3 run help the Cru pull away and eventually close out the Bulldogs.
