86 Texas Lutheran Student-Athletes Earn SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll Accolades

SEGUIN, Texas – For the third consecutive spring, Texas Lutheran University placed over 80 student-athletes on the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Student-Athlete Spring Academic Honor Roll, with 86 Bulldogs earning the honor in a conference office announcement on Monday.

A total of 936 student-athletes made the list - the second most in a single semester since the league split its spring honor roll to separately recognize winter student-athlete honorees from spring sport student-athlete honorees in 2011-12. To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.

For the 2025-26 academic year, across the league's 18 sponsored sports, a total of 1,839 student-athletes earned all-Academic honors, the fourth most in a single academic year in league history.

Since its inception in the fall of 1997, over 39,400 male and female student-athletes have been recognized for their contributions in the classroom.

Texas Lutheran baseball, softball and men's and women's track and field each tallied double-digit honorees with baseball leading the way with 21 honorees and softball following close behind with 17 honorees. Texas Lutheran men's golf finished with eight honorees, men's and women's tennis combined for six honorees while women's golf rounded out the Texas Lutheran honorees with three honorees.

TLU had 29 SCAC All-Conference honorees from 2026 that also picked up Academic Honor Roll recognition this year. Softball Academic All-Americans Serena Gonzalez, Katelyn Howard, and Taylor Vannett, NFCA First Team All-American Caelee Clark, and USTFCCCA All-Americans Rickey Franks, Caden Keller, Eden Perez, and Gavino Ramirez headline the illustrious group that were named to the Academic Honor Roll and SCAC All-Conference teams.

In total, Texas Lutheran had 169 student-athletes earn SCAC Academic Honor Roll between the fall, winter and spring 2025-26 seasons.
