Box Score ALPINE, Texas -- Texas Lutheran women's tennis earned their second straight 7-0 victory over Division-II opponent, Sul Ross State, Saturday morning in Alpine.
Texas Lutheran improves to 3-2 on the season while Sul Ross falls to 0-2Â as the Bulldogs swept through doubles and singles competition.
Texas Lutheran entered doubles play with an advantage by virtue of winning a match by default. The team of Cassandra Benavides (San Antonio/Medina Valley) and Isabella Barber clinched the doubles point for TLU, winning their match 6-0.
The Bulldogs swept through singles competition. Farah Standley (Pleasanton/Pleasanton) won her #1 singles match, while Benavides and Isabella Hill (Pearland/Pearland) swept through their competition winning their matches 6-0, 6-0. Barber and Adison Ortega (San Antonio/Medina Valley) finished off the TLU victory with 6-4, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-2 wins respectively.
The Bulldogs return to Seguin and to SCAC play on Saturday, March 14, at 10 AM as they welcome the 36th-ranked Colorado College Tigers to the ORTC.
