SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran senior Caelee Clark (Montgomery/Lake Creek) and sophomore Jordyn Joy (Kerrville/Tivy) have been named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively. The conference announced the weekly honors on Monday.

Both Bulldogs had impressive performances at the TLU Invitational, helping No. 3 TLU to a 5-1 week, including a ranked win over No. 17 Tufts.

Clark stole 12 bases in the six games with 11 runs scored. On March 19, in front of the home crowd of friends of family at Ed Kruse Stadium, Clark stole base No. 258 to break the tie with Georgia's Nicole Barber to be the NCAA career stolen base leader across all three levels. For the Invitational, Clark hit .533 and maintained a .696 on-base percentage.

Joy scattered nine hits and only allowed one run at the TLU Invitational. Against Bethel, Joy tossed five shutout innings of relief with three hits and three walks before limiting the 17th-ranked Jumbos to just one run as she tossed her second complete game of the season. Joy finished the week 2-0 with one strikeout, a 0.58 ERA, a 1.00 WHIP, and a .209 batting average against, allowing the one run on nine hits and three walks over 12 innings.

It marks Clark's fourth career SCAC weekly honor and Joy's second in her career.

Texas Lutheran shifts its focus back to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) play for a three-game series with Schreiner at Ed Kruse Stadium, March 27-28. First pitch of Friday's single-game is scheduled for 5 PM.
