KERRVILLE, Texas -- The #RV Texas Lutheran Bulldogs (17-7, 12-3 SCAC) conquered Schreiner (4-20, 3-12 SCAC) on Friday night at Stephens Family Arena. With the win, TLU remains tied for second place in the SCAC regular season standings and officially clinch their spot in the 2026 SCAC Tournament in Conway, Arkansas.
In TLU's next-to-last regular season game, seniors
Hannah Gallegos (San Antonio/Harlan) and
Lauren Sansano (San Antonio/FEAST) led the field with 18 points each, establishing a new career-high for Gallegos. Sansano added eight rebounds, two assists, and three steals while Gallegos finished with four rebounds and three assists.
Davi'Yanna Jones (San Antonio/Stevens) followed with 12 points and four rebounds under her belt while
Jaidyn Treviño (Austin/Akins) led the TLU bench with ten points.
Brie Sosa would be the only Mountaineer in double figures with 15 points.
TLU dominated the paint and took advantage of Schreiner turnovers to take a 24-17 lead after the first quarter with Gallegos leading the Bulldogs with eight points in the opening quarter.
The game opened up for the Bulldogs in the second quarter. The TLU defense limited Schreiner to just ten points as TLU went on a 22-10 to close the first half. TLU proved dominant in the paint with four offensive rebounds and 28 points in the paint in the first half. Gallegos led all scorers with 14 points in the first half while Sansano finished with 11 points as TLU carried a 46-27 lead into the break.
Scoring slowed in the third quarter as TLU only outscored the Mountaineers 16-14. Sansano would contribute five points to the 16-point tally.
Treviño took over in the fourth, scoring eight of the Bulldogs 19 points to close out the game. Freshman
Laura Sierra (San Antonio/St. Anthony Catholic) finished the second half with eight rebounds for a new career-high.
To wrap the regular season, the Bulldogs travel to Abilene for a matchup against McMurry on Sunday, Feb. 22 in a game that will determine the second seed for the Gold Division in the 2026 SCAC Tournament.
