ABILENE, Texas -- The #RV Texas Lutheran Women's Basketball team picked up its 18th win of the season over McMurry at Kimbrell Arena Sunday evening, 72-64. The Bulldogs finish their 2025-26 regular season with a 18-7 (13-3 SCAC) record.

The Texas Lutheran starting five accounted for all 72 points on Sunday.

Senior Sarahi Jones (Los Fresnos/Los Fresnos) posted her sixth double-double of the season.The forward scored 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting and wrangled 10 rebounds in Kimbrell Arena on the way to Sunday's victory. With her ten rebounds, Jones moved into fifth place on the Bulldogs rebounding list in the NCAA-era with 556 in her career - passing Courtney Ard (549, 2001-05).

The Bulldogs won the battle on the boards, outpacing the War Hawks 32-27 in the rebounding category. Staunch defense led to 25 boards by the Bulldogs on 37 missed shots from McMurry.

Lauren Sansano (San Antonio/FEAST) led the Bulldogs with 21 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Davi'Yanna Jones (San Antonio/Stevens) matched Sarahi Jones's 14-point scoring output with 14 of her own with six rebounds. Callista Perez (San Antonio/Stevens) finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, and three steals, while Hannah Gallegos (San Antonio/Harlan) added 11 points.

McMurry came out on fire on their senior night, shooting 56 percent from the field to take a 23-11 after the first quarter. The Bulldogs made five of their 14 attempts from the field and only one three in the opening period.

The Bulldogs used a balanced attack in the second quarter to cut the deficit in half. Sansano was the team's leading scorer in the quarter, finishing with nine points on 3-of-5 shooting. Perez added six points while Gallegos added four points and Sarahi Jones controlled the boards with three rebounds in the period. TLU went into halftime down 37-32 to the War Hawks in the battle for the two-seed in the SCAC Tournament. Turnovers plagued the Bulldogs in the first half as they had eight leading to 15 points for McMurry to the War Hawks four.

Texas Lutheran started the third quarter on a 12-4 run to take the lead. After allowing seven McMurry threes in the first half, TLU limited the War Hawks to one in the third quarter while they attacked the basket at will, shooting 53 percent in the quarter. Sarahi Jones led the Bulldogs with eight points in the quarter while Sansano added three points, five rebounds, and two assists as the Bulldogs carried a two point lead into the final quarter.

TLU found success in the fourth quarter through its offensive and defensive efforts. Davi'Yanna Jones sunk a pair of free throws to start the scoring in the period. As a team, the Bulldogs shot 88.9 percent (16-of-18) from the free throw line on Sunday. Sansano extended the lead to six around two minutes into the fourth. Sansano led the quarter in scoring with nine points. Davi'Yanna Jones added six points. Sarahi Jones went for two points, two rebounds, and two blocks. TLU went 9-for-11 from the free throw line in the fourth to solidify the win. The game was tied four times and saw four lead changes, but the Bulldogs finished with their 13th win in SCAC conference play.

Up next, TLU heads to Conway, Arkansas, to compete in the 2026 SCAC Championship Tournament. The Bulldogs captured the No. 2 seed in the Gold Division by winning Sunday's contest. Texas Lutheran will face Ozarks (AR) on Friday. Tip-off is set for 7 PM with the game being streamed on FloCollege. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
