SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran cross country program competed in the OLLU Invitational Saturday morning in San Antonio with the women finishing fourth with 81 points and the men finishing fifth with 124 points.
Senior Mackenzie Combs (New Braunfels/Canyon) had yet another record-breaking performance Saturday morning, breaking her own 6K school record with a time of 22:27.7 to finish as the meet runner-up and surpass her previous record by five seconds. Her time was the fastest among collegiate competitors Saturday morning. Audrey Malbrough (Selma/Veterans Memorial) and Brooklyn Van Niekerk (Magnolia/Tomball Memorial) joined Combs in the Top 15 finishing 13th (24:39.7) and 15th (24:46.2) respectively.
Following them were Kaylen Serrano (Sinton/Sinton) in 32nd (26:47.4) and Nicole Bloodgood (San Antonio/Medina Valley) in 41st (28:00.0) to round out the top five in the 6K.
On the men's side, the Bulldogs were led by a 12th place finish (27:11.8) from Angel Miguel Hernandez (Luling/Luling). Adrian De Los Santos (San Antonio/Holy Cross) followed Hernandez in 33rd place with a time of 28:38.4.
De Los Santos was followed by Lukas Cruz (Willis/Willis) (29:09.0) and Roberto Espinoza (San Antonio/Harlan) (29:14.2) in 41st and 42nd with Christian Jardon (Sinton/Sinton) rounding out the Bulldogs pack in 52nd (29:56.3).

Texas Lutheran's cross country teams will enjoy a week off before traveling to Clinton, Mississippi, for the Watson Collegiate Classic hosted by Mississippi College on Friday, Oct. 16.
