SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran opened its first full SCAC weekend of the 2026 season with a 106-92 win over Ozarks (AR) in a game that four Bulldogs finish in double-figure scoring on Friday.
After not scoring 100 points since January 2002, the Bulldogs have scored 100 points in back-to-back games.
Mason Wallace (San Antonio/Judson) scored a career-high 30 points while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out four assists. With the 30-point performance, Wallace became the first Bulldog to hit the 30-point mark since Sebastian Andrade scored 38 points against Austin College on Feb. 29, 2020. It is his fourth game of 25 or more points this season.
Teddy Tapken (Austin/Lake Travis), who has been one of the most efficient scorers in the country throughout his collegiate career, finished a perfect 9-for-9 from the floor to finish with 21 points to go along with three rebounds and three assists. Senior
Semaj Edwards (Lanham, MD) was the final starter in double figures with 16 points and eight rebounds while freshman
Aaron Garcia (San Antonio/Holy Cross) led the TLU bench with 10 points and six assists, both career-highs.
The Bulldogs finished the game with a 36-27 rebounding advantage and outscored the Eagles 52-34 in the paint. Texas Lutheran finished Friday's game shooting a scorching 62.9 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from beyond the arc.
TLU took a 52-41 lead into halftime after going 22-of-33 from the field with Wallace and Tapken already in double figures. Wallace had 16 of his 30 points in the first half while Tapken added 12 points of his own. Garcia already had four of his team-high six assists to go along with his three points at the break while
Semaj Edwards had seven points.
Mason Wallace and
Kris Jones (Port Aransas/Port Aransas) combined to start the game on a 9-0 run as the Bulldogs would lead for all but 2:55 on Friday night.
Despite hot shooting from the Eagles, the Bulldogs would cruise through the second half - leading by as many as 20 points and the lead never dropping below double digits. Wallace added 14 more points in the second half while Tapken and Edwards added nine each.
Texas Lutheran continues its five-game homestand on Saturday, January 10 against Hendrix College. Tip-off is set for 4 PM. The game will be streamed on FloCollege. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
