SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran (7-6, 2-2 SCAC) beat Hendrix (1-12, 1-3 SCAC), 75-53, on Saturday evening at Memorial Gymnasium.
Teddy Tapken (Austin/Lake Travis) paced the Bulldogs in scoring with 12 points and added eight rebounds and three assists, while
Mason Wallace (San Antonio/Judson) added 11 points, six rebounds, and three assists.
Kris Jones (Port Aransas/Port Aransas) was the final Bulldog in double figures with a season-high ten points and four rebounds.
Semaj Edwards (Lanham, MD/Oak Hill) and
Jonah Johnson (Cibolo/Steele) contributed eight points each.
Texas Lutheran jumped out to a 15-3 lead which was ignited by a trio of threes from Wallace, Jones, and Edwards entering the first media timeout. The Bulldogs didn't slow down for the rest of the half either as TLU led by as many as 22 points in the first half. They would carry a 17-point lead, 43-26, into the locker room.
The two teams traded baskets coming out of the halftime break but the Warriors simply weren't able to withstand the Bulldogs offense as they trailed by as many as 31 points in the second half.Â
Every active member of the TLU roster saw action on Saturday.

Mason Wallace, and
Kris Jones all had five points each to lead the Bulldogs offensively in a second half that saw 18 Bulldogs touch the floor as the Bulldogs cruised to the 75-53 final to improve to 5-2 at home this season.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday, January 16 as the Schreiner Mountaineers travel to Seguin for an important SCAC Divisional matchup. Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM. The game will be streamed on FloCollege. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
