GEORGETOWN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Volleyball was swept by Puget Sound, 25-19, 25-16, 25-22, in their second of three matches in the 2025 SU Invitational hosted by Southwestern University at the Robertson Center in Georgetown.
The Bulldogs will be back in action later today as the Bulldogs face 16th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan at 3:30 PM for their final match in the tournament.
Ryann Ely (Montgomery/Concordia Lutheran) and
Andie Lozano-Lomeli (Brownsville/Pace) led the Bulldogs with six kills each.
Naomi Gamboa (San Antonio/Warren) dished out 16 assists, while
Richelle Guerra (Brownsville/Rivera) finished with a team-high 10 digs.
Briana Salvatierra-Moore (San Antonio/Antonian College Prep) added five kills and had a team-high two blocks.
Puget Sound never trailed in the first set, opening the match with a 25-19 win. The Loggers hit .378 while holding the Bulldogs to just a .129 hitting percentage.
The Loggers grabbed a 2-0 lead in the match as they cruised to a 25-16 win in the second set.
Texas Lutheran attempted to make it interesting in the third set but Puget Sound held off the Bulldogs to complete the sweep with a 25-22 win.
