SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- In front of a large crowd at Paul McGinlay Field, the Trinity Tigers handed TLU its third straight loss, all to 2024 NCAA Tournament qualifying teams, 3-1.
Trinity recorded the game's first goal in the 30th minute and carried the 1-0 advantage into halftime.
The Tigers doubled their lead with a goal in the 56th minute. The Bulldogs trimmed the 2-0 deficit in half in the 60th minute on a
Lilly Noblett (San Antonio/Warren) goal, but the Tigers scored an add-on goal in the 87th minute.
TLU (2-3) and Trinity (6-1-1) both had nine shots in the first half but the Bulldogs could only get two shots on goal. A header off a corner from
Klarissa Martinez (Houston/Incarnate Word Academy) made for the Bulldogs best look in the first half. TLU had a few opportunities in the second half but was denied by the Trinity defense.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday, Sept. 26 as they travel to Sherman to face Austin College at 5 PM to open SCAC play. The match will be streamed on FloCollege. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
