SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran running back Weston Guzman (McAllen/McAllen) has been named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced today. It is Guzman's first SCAC weekly honor and the second straight honor for the Texas Lutheran offense.

In the week two loss to Howard Payne, Guzman rushed for 71 yards on 13 carries and also added a career-high 119 yards receiving on six catches including a 69-yard touchdown. The 69-yard sprint down the TLU sideline was the longest play of his career.

For the season, Guzman leads the SCAC in yards per carry (5.1).

Texas Lutheran travels to Southwestern on Saturday, Sept. 20. Kickoff from Georgetown is scheduled for 7 PM with the game being broadcast on YouTube. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
