SEGUIN, Texas -- Mason Goudeau (Liberty/Liberty) and Tyler Helpenstill (Pearland/Lutheran South) were named to the Academic All-District Team as announced by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Tuesday morning to represent Texas Lutheran Baseball. The duo are the Bulldogs first honorees since 2023.
Goudeau concluded his collegiate career as the Bulldogs everyday left fielder. The Liberty, Texas native started 37 of the 38 games he played in for the Bulldogs, earning a team-high 53 hits while maintaining an average of .331 on the season. He had 12 extra-base hits with six doubles, three triples, and three homers. Goudeau carries a 3.64 GPA as a Business Management major.
Helpenstill, a junior, adds the Academic All-District honor to his hardware shelf for the 2025 season. He was named All-SCAC Honorable Mention alongside Goudeau following the conclusion of the 2025 regular season. The Pearland, Texas native hit .270 for the Bulldogs with 31 hits, 14 of those coming in the form of extra bases. He smashed two home runs out of the park while collecting nine doubles and three triples.
Helpenstill played in 34 games with 29 starts - platooning between the roles of the Bulldogs starting first baseman and designated hitter. Helpenstill is a Business Finance major and maintains a 3.74 GPA.
To qualify for the honor, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, be a sophomore academically and have a year-in-residence at their current school and have appeared in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.
