CONWAY, AR -- Texas Lutheran volleyball completed the sweep of Dallas, 25-14, 25-11, 25-12, on Sunday at Grove Gymnasium on the campus of Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas.
The Bulldogs (10-12, 7-5 SCAC) hit .356 in the match, had six blocks, ten service aces and held the Crusaders to a -.079 hitting percentage.
Ryann Ely (Montgomery/Concordia Lutheran) led the way offensively with 12 kills, six digs, and an ace, while hitting .579.
Nadia Dunn (Houston/Pearland) had another strong match, with seven kills, five digs, two aces, and two blocks.
Naomi Gamboa (San Antonio/Warren) dished out 11 assists and finished with four digs.
Dallas Copelin (Houston/St. John XXIII College Prep) dished out a career-high nine assists and tallied four service aces, both career-highs, and added a kill.
The first set was close early and the Crusaders grabbed an 8-7 lead before the Bulldogs took over. With
Briana Salvatierra-Moore (San Antonio/Antonian College Prep) at the service line, the Bulldogs went on a 7-0 run and never looked back. TLU hit .290 in the set and were led by four kills from Dunn.
The Bulldogs dominated the second set, starting the set on a 23-7 run. The Bulldogs won the set 25-11 while hitting .478 and were led by six kills from Ely.
Texas Lutheran pulled away in the third set, limiting the Crusaders to a -.154 hitting percentage to complete the sweep with a 25-12 set win.
The Bulldogs will start their final homestand of the 2025 season on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 6 PM as they welcome the Schreiner Mountaineers to Memorial Gymnasium. The match will serve as the Bulldogs annual "Dig Pink" Pink Out match. The match will be streamed on FloCollege. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
