SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran volleyball dropped a tough five-set match to Schreiner, 25-19, 25-17, 17-25, 23-25, 8-15, on Wednesday night at Memorial Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs (10-13, 7-6 SCAC) will conclude their 2025 home slate on Saturday at 1 PM against Concordia (TX). Saturday will act as senior day as the Bulldogs honor their three seniors as well as the 2022 SCAC Championship Team as well as the 1975 TLC National Championship Team for their 50th Anniversary.  The match will be streamed on FloCollege. Maselina Tuufuli (St. Hedwig/Steele) and Ryann Ely (Montgomery/Concordia Lutheran) both finished with a team-high 12 kills, while Andie Lozano-Lomeli (Brownsville/Pace) had 11 kills and three blocks. Briana Salvatierra-Moore (San Antonio/Antonian College Prep) added eight kills and five blocks, while Zaria Solis (Burnet/Burnet) finished with seven kills and four blocks.

Nadia Dunn (Houston/Pearland) had a career-high 27 digs to go with nine kills while Dallas Copelin (Houston/St. John XXIII College Preparatory) dished out a career-high 12 assists.

Texas Lutheran used an early 9-3 run to pull away from Schreiner in the first set, limiting the Mountaineers to a .096 hitting percentage.

The Bulldogs rolled to a 2-0 lead in the match with a 25-17 win in the second set. Texas Lutheran finished with 4.5 blocks in the set to neutralize the Mountaineers offense.

Schreiner rolled in the third set, 25-17, to avoid the sweep, hitting .379 in the set compared to the Bulldogs .118.

Texas Lutheran held a 17-12 lead in the fourth set before Schreiner went on a dominant 11-5 run to grab a 23-22 lead before closing the set with a 25-23 win.

The Mountaineers got out to another early lead in the fifth set and put the match away with a 15-8 win.
