SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs scored 29 runs in a doubleheader sweep Saturday of the University of Dallas.
At TLU's Ed Kruse Stadium (Morck Softball Field), the Bulldogs won 14-0 and 15-3. Both games ended in the fifth inning.
The Bulldogs swept the three-game Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series with the Crusaders.
TLU improved to 23-4 overall and to 14-0 in the SCAC. Dallas fell to 2-14 overall and to 2-13 in the SCAC.
In the noon game,
Rebecca Snow belted a two-run double in the second and a two-run home run in the third. She was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI.
Casey Martin was 1-for-1 with three runs scored and a pair of walks.
Sydney Ouellette went four innings for the victory. She allowed just one hit and struck out two. She improved to 10-2.
In the late game, Padilla and
Bailey Hudgeons each homered. Hudgeons had an RBI double in the second and a two-run homer in the fourth.
Padilla hit a three-run shot in the second.
Jurden was 2-for-2 with four runs scored and two walks. She stole two bases.
Raines tossed four innings and picked up the win to go to 5-0.
TLU travels to Shreveport, La. next weekend for a four-game series against Centenary (La.). The first three games of the series will be conference contests.
